Taller gratis en español sobre cómo empezar su propio negocio El Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios de la Universidad de Georgia y el Banco Latino presentan el seminario: Cómo empezar su propio negocio. El taller, de dos horas de duración, ofrece información básica sobre cómo empezar su propio negocio. Los temas a cubrir son: características de un empresario, ideas de negocio, factibilidad, estructuras legales, regulaciones y planificación. El programa es presentado en español y está dirigido hacia la comunidad latina interesada en comenzar un negocio en Georgia. Si usted es miembro de la comunidad latina de Georgia y actualmente tiene un pequeño negocio o piensa empezar uno, el Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios (SBDC por sus siglas en inglés) le puede brindar la ayuda que usted necesita. El Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios a través de la oficina de Desarrollo de Negocios Minoritarios proporciona asistencia técnica, entrenamiento y asesoramiento gratuito a pequeños empresarios latinos. La oficina de Desarrollo de Negocios Minoritarios es una iniciativa especial del Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios (SBDC) de la Universidad de Georgia. Esta oficina fue creada para atender las necesidades de los pequeños empresarios y emprendedores minoritarios. Los consultores que trabajan en el SBDC tienen estudios avanzados en administración y negocios, también cuentan con una amplia experiencia práctica. Algunos de los servicios que el Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios ofrece son: - Desarrollar y actualizar planes de negocios - Identificar fuentes de capital - Analizar estados financieros - Realizar investigaciones especializadas de acuerdo a las necesidades del pequeño empresario - Explorar la manera adecuada de cumplir con las regulaciones gubernamentales - Analizar datos estadísticos y demográficos de reportes y mapas, utilizando el sistema de información geográfico Georgia 2000 El Centro de Desarrollo de Pequeños Negocios cuenta con 20 oficinas ubicadas en diferentes ciudades en Georgia. Una de las principales preguntas que hacen los latinos a los consultores del SBDC es: ¿Dónde puedo obtener dinero del gobierno para poder empezar o expandir mi negocio, ya que soy miembro de las minorías? La respuesta a dicha pregunta resulta ser desalentadora debido a que la mayoría del dinero que el gobierno destina a apoyar organizaciones es asignado a organizaciones previamente establecidas y sin fines de lucro, sin embargo, existen grandes corporaciones que pueden tener fondos económicos para ideas emprendedoras y/o programas, dichos fondos no son considerados un préstamo. Free workshop in Spanish on how to start your own business The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and Banco Latino present the seminar: How to Start Your Own Business. This course contains basic information on how to start a new business. The main topics covered in this course are: entrepreneurial spirit, business ideas, feasibility, legal structures, regulations, and business planning. This course is presented in Spanish and is targeted to the Latino community interested in starting a new business in Georgia. The Georgia SBDC Network is headquartered at the University of Georgia campus in Athens, and through partnerships with nine other universities and colleges in the state we provide business consulting and continuing education opportunities to Georgia's entrepreneurs. In 2004, our consultants assisted 5,655 business clients with a variety of challenges, including but not limited to, how to start a business, how to write a business plan, how to apply for a loan or seek out other financial resources, how to market their products and services, and how to plan for succession of the business. Additionally, we provided 834 training programs attended by 11,186 individuals across the state often in conjunction with other business assistance organizations. Examples of these include tax workshops cosponsored with the IRS and the award winning "Drugs Don't Work" program cosponsored with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. We also provided services to targeted markets including minority business owners, Hispanic business owners, women business owners, and community groups interested in business creation and retention as economic development strategies. Specialized services include export assistance as well as marketing and econometric research. The Georgia SBDC Network's business consultants are rightfully recognized by many as "Georgia's Experts in Entrepreneurship." The impact of small businesses on the Georgia economy cannot be underestimated. According to the latest data from the SBA, small businesses account for 97.5 percent of all the businesses in Georgia and employ 43.5 percent of the state's non-farm, private sector workers. Similarly for the nation, 99.7 percent of all businesses are defined as "small" (less than 500 employees) and they employ 50.1 percent of the nation's workforce. Georgia is often cited in the popular press as well as academic publications as a leader in entrepreneurship. Numerous statistics tout the growth rate of small businesses, but one of the most interesting statistics concerning business start-ups in the U.S. is that at any given time, 6.2 individuals out of 100 over the age of 18 are in the process of developing a business venture. Surely everyone knows a few small business owners, but to truly appreciate their impact, they must be considered in total. One such statistic is the combined output for America's small businesses. Not only does small business activity account for 52 percent of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product, but in essence, it also constitutes the second largest economy in the world. The U.S. small business economy is larger than the entire Japanese economy. It is larger than the combined economies of Germany, Great Britain and France - which are the third, fourth and fifth largest economies in the world.
