¿Tiene una idea para su propio negocio y no está seguro cómo comenzar a realizar su sueño? Disponible ahora en la página web de Eco Latino está 'AHORA', la guía de ayuda en línea de recursos hispanos de Athens y alrededores.

Respondiendo a la necesidad de ofrecer una fuente con información útil referente a intereses hispanos, este sitio en Internet proporciona toda la información necesaria para comenzar su propio negocio en el noreste de Georgia. Se incluye en este sitio web bilingüe una guía para construir su propio negocio, un directorio de contactos bilingües en las escuelas y los hospitales de la región, una guía sobre naturalización e inmigración en Estados Unidos, así como otras agencias importantes como los Servicios Sociales Católicos. El sitio además incluye las Páginas Amarillas hispanas en Internet, la cual es un directorio práctico de todos los negocios con los contactos hispanohablantes.

Este banco de datos en línea es un proyecto cooperativo en curso compilado por el Dr. John Ross del Departamento de Lenguas Románicas de la Universidad de Georgia y Julie Ramsey, graduada de honores del mismo departamento de UGA.

Afortunadamente, existen muchos recursos en Athens y noreste de Georgia para ayudar y para servir a la comunidad hispana. Este sitio web, sin embargo, proporciona un lugar comprensivo y conveniente para encontrar respuestas rápidamente. Y aunque 'AHORA' fue creado para proporcionar y conectar a la comunidad hispana con recursos y servicios, las metas de este proyecto van más allá de la comunidad hispana. Además, su diseño proporciona las herramientas necesarias para que los negocios locales alcancen a los residentes hispanos de Athens. New web page with information on local resources

Got an idea for your own business and aren't sure how to begin making your dream come true? Now available on the Eco Latino's website is AHORA, the Athens Area Hispanic Online Resource Assistant.

Answering the need for a single source for useful information concerning Hispanic interests, this website provides all the necessary information for starting your own business here in Athens. Included on this bilingual website is a guide for constructing your own business, a directory of bilingual contacts at the local schools and hospitals, a guide to basic naturalization and immigration to the United States as well as other helpful agencies around town such as Catholic Social Services. The site also includes an online Hispanic Yellow Pages, which is a handy directory of all businesses with Spanish speaking contacts.

This online resource bank is a joint, ongoing project compiled by Dr. John Ross of the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia and Julie Ramsey, Honors graduate of the UGA Department of Romance Languages. Fortunately, many resources exist in Athens to help and serve the Hispanic Community. This particular website, however, provides a comprehensive, convenient place to find answers fast. And while AHORA was created to provide resources for the Hispanic community, the goals for this venture reach beyond the Hispanic community. Its design provides tools for interested businesses to reach out to Athens' Hispanic residents. Ideally, this project will help the Hispanic population become part of the Athens business community.

The website is completely bilingual as each page is available in English or Spanish simply by selecting the preferred language at the top right corner of each page. Links to external English pages have been translated into Spanish.

It is important to add that this is not a finished, but an ever-changing product.
