Juanes: orgullo paisa en Atlanta

!El Tabernacle se le quedó pequeño a Juanes! El cantante colombiano Juanes se presentó en Atlanta el 8 de marzo en el recinto musical "Tabernacle" ante cientos de personas que llenaron el antiguo teatro. Había una gran expectativa en Atlanta de ver a este cantante original de Medellín que se ha convertido en un ídolo musical en Latinoamérica. Sus seguidores llegaron en masa al concierto, sobretodo la gran colonia colombiana viviendo en Georgia. "Sé que muchos de ustedes están aquí pero extrañan a sus familias en Colombia", dijo Juanes a sus compatriotas antes de dedicarles la siguiente canción, titulada 'Fotografía'. Pero también se pudieron ver y sentir sus seguidores de otros países como Perú, México y República Dominicana, lo que demuestra la figura internacional de Juanes. "Te amamos Juanes, México", se pudo leer en uno de los carteles que colgaban del segundo piso del recinto.

El concierto duró dos horas y estuvo lleno de música de principio a fin. Juanes, cuyo nombre original es Juan Esteban Aristizabal, cantó sus grandes éxitos, tanto de su último álbum 'Mi sangre' (2004) como también algunas canciones ya clásicas de sus primeros discos 'Un día normal' (2003) y 'Fíjate bien" (2001).

Juanes interpretó varias canciones ya famosas entre las personas de habla hispana como "A Dios le pido", "Volverte a ver", "Luna", "Mala gente", "La paga", "Camisa negra" y muchas otras.

En el concierto, no sólo se vieron chicas gritando, cantando y bailando, también se pudieron ver hombres, personas mayores y familias enteras que querían compartir una noche de música y baile en un ambiente de alegría. Juanes también permitió a varias seguidoras bailar con él durante algunas canciones y regalándoles el más preciado trofeo, un beso de su ídolo. Este detalle de humildad y amistad por parte de la estrella colombiana, demostró el lado humano de Juanes y fue premiado con aplausos por parte del público.

Cuando Juanes terminó de cantar "A Dios le pido", se despidió agradeciendo a los presentes por haber venido, pero de inmediato se comenzó a escuchar "otra", "otra". Era el grito del público que quería más música y espectáculo. Al cabo de unos minutos, Juanes no los decepcionó y regresó a la tarima donde cantó "Día normal" con su guitarra y en solitario. Luego, el resto de su banda se le unió y tocaron tres canciones más antes de despedirse, una vez más.

El concierto no decepcionó y dejó un muy buen sabor de boca a los que tuvieron la fortuna de asistir a El Tabernacle. El mismo buen sabor de boca que deja un buen plato de bandeja paisa.

Juanes: Colombian Pride

The Tabernacle ended up being a small venue for Juanes! The famous Colombian singer Juanes threw a concert on March 8 in Atlanta at the musical theater "Tabernacle" in front of hundreds of people who filled the old theater. There was a big expectation in Atlanta to see this artist, who was born in Medellin, and who has become a musical idol in Latin America. His fans arrived in great numbers to the concert, especially the large Colombian community living in Georgia. "I know that many of you are here but miss your families back in Colombia," said Juanes to his countrymen and women before dedicating them the next song called 'Fotografia.' But fans from other countries such as Peru, Mexico, and Dominican Republic were also seen and felt throughout the concert, which proofed Juanes' international reach. "We love you Juanes, Mexico," could be read in a poster that hanged from the second floor of the theater.

The concert lasted two hours and was full of music from beginning to end. Juanes, whose original name is Juan Esteban Aristizabal, singed his biggest hits, from both his latest album, 'Mi Sangre' (2004), to his now famous songs from his first two albums, 'Un día Normal' (2003) and 'Fijate Bien' (2001).

Juanes interpreted many songs now famous among Spanish-speaking fans such as "A Dios le pido," "Volverte a ver," "Luna," "Mala Gente," "La paga," "Camisa negra," and many others.

Not only girls shouting, singing and dancing attended the concert, but also men, older people and entire families wanted to share a night of music and dance in a friendly and enjoyable environment. Juanes also allowed several fans to dance with him while singing and giving the female fans the precious gift of a kiss on their cheeks. This humble and nice gesture from the Colombian star showed Juanes' human side and the public rewarded him with applauses.

Juanes was going to finish singing "A Dios le pido" before his farewell thanking the fans for coming, but immediately after, people started shouting "another one," "another one." These were the shouts of people wanting to hear more music and to keep enjoying the show. Soon after, Juanes did not disappoint and came back on stage where he performed solo "Día normal" with his guitar. Then, the rest of his band joined him and together played three more songs before leaving one more time.

The concert was spectacular and left those who attended The Tabernacle with a good feeling. The same good feeling one gets after eating the famous Colombian dish "bandeja paisa."
