Un gol por la amistad by Enrique Carrión Un equipo de fútbol compuesto de trabajadores del gobierno local de Athens jugó contra otro compuesto de jugadores hispanos en un partido amistoso organizado por el Sargento Nick Aguilar del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Athens-Clarke. El partido se llevó a cabo un domingo en una tarde soleada de noviembre en el complejo deportivo Holland Park en Athens y el evento fue organizado para mejorar la relación entre la comunidad hispana y las autoridades locales. "Es una manera divertida de conocernos y unir a la comunidad", dijo el Sargento Aguilar. Cuando se le preguntó si este evento se realizará el año que viene, el sargento Aguilar se rió y dijo, "¿El año que viene? Los equipos quieren volver a jugar la semana que viene". El resultado final fue de cinco goles a uno a favor del equipo hispano.		Soccer Match Unites Groups by Enrique Carrión A soccer team composed of Athens city employees played against another team composed of Hispanic players in a friendly match organized by Sergeant Nick Aguilar of the Athens-Clarke Police Department. The match took place on a sunny Sunday afternoon in November at Holland Park in Athens and the event was organized to improve relationships between the Hispanic community and local authorities. "It is a fun way to get to know each other and bring the community together," said Sergeant Aguilar. When asked if this event will take place again next year, Sergeant Aguilar laughed and said, "Next year? They all want a rematch next weekend." The final score was five goals to one in favor of the Hispanic team.
