Escritor venezolano visita Athens

El martes, 12 de octubre la Univesidad de Georgia recibirá la visita del escritor y poeta venezolano Leonardo Padrón. La visita está patrocinada por el 'Center for Humanities and Arts de UGA', 'UGA's Office of Institutional Diversity', el 'Grady College' y los Peabody Awards.

La visita tendrá tres eventos principales:

- Muestra y discusión de la película "Manuela Saenz", cuyo guión fue escrito por Padrón. (Martes 12 de Octubre, 7 p.m. en el Student Learning Center en el campus de UGA, habitación 150).

- Mesa de conversación en CLACS (Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos y del Caribe). "More than melodramatic love stories: Telenovelas and social reality". Con la participación de Leonardo Padrón y Carolina Acosta-Alzuru. (Miércoles 13 de Octubre, 12:20 p.m. en la sede del CLACS en el campus de UGA).

- Lectura de Poesía, Jueves 14 de Octubre, SLC 207, 12:30pm.

Venezuelan Writer Visits Athens

On Tuesday, October 12 the University of Georgia will receive the visit of the Venezuelan writer and poet Leonardo Padron. The visit is sponsored by the Center for Humanities and Arts at UGA, UGA's Office of Institutional Diversity, Grady College and the Peabody Awards.

The visit will have three main events:

Showing and discussion of the movie "Manuel Saenz," which script was written by Padron. (Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at the Student Learning Center on UGA campus, room 150).

Round table at CLACS (Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies). More than melodramatic love stories: Telenovelas and social reality." With the participation of Leonardo Padron and Carolina Acosta-Alzuru (Wednesday, October 13 at 12:20 p.m. at the CLACS office on UGA campus).

Poetry reading Thursday October 14th SLC room 207 at 12:30.
