Cantante latina Ana Cristina hace historia en la toma de posesióon presidencial

En la noche de de la 55ta. toma de posesión presidencial, la cantante latina Ana Cristina, originalmente de Miami, se convirtió en la primera hispana en interpretar 'The Star Spangled Banner' en una iniciación de mandato. De pie, ante el Presidente George W. Bush y una audiencia de 5.000 dignatarios internacionales, la joven prodigio cubanoamericana de 19 años representó a los hispanos de todo el mundo cuando llevó a cabo una de las más cautivadoras interpretaciones a capella del Himno Nacional de los Estados Unidos. Su voz cristalina recibió una emotiva reacción por parte de la audiencia, que se puso de pie para otorgarle una vibrante ovación. Inmediatamente después el Presidente George W. Bush pronunció su discurso.

"He cantado en numerosos eventos por todo el mundo, pero nunca antes sentí tanto orgullo, no sólo por llegar a otras personas a través de la música, sino también por representar a los hispanos de todo el mundo. Es realmente un gran honor", expresó emocionada Ana Cristina, luego de entonar la estrofa final de The Star Spangled Banner, y descender del podio presidencial.

Seleccionada entre un grupo de miles de cantantes de toda la nación, Ana Cristina demostró su tesitura vocal de seis octavas, una cualidad apenas escuchada en la industria, en el Baile Constitucional a las 7:30 p.m., ante el Presidente George W. Bush, el Vicepresidente Dick Cheney, la Asesora de Seguridad Nacional Condoleezza Rice y otros invitados especiales y dignatarios. Cuando Ana Cristina descendió del escenario para integrarse a la concurrencia, le pidieron que se tomara más de un centenar de fotografías y firmara numerosos autógrafos.

"La voz de Ana Cristina es la más impresionante y cautivadora que he escuchado jamás. En los treinta años que he servido en las Fuerzas Armadas he escuchado numerosas interpretaciones de The Star Spangled Banner, pero nunca había disfrutado de algo tan notable. Estoy orgulloso de que esa voz represente a nuestra nación y ya la hemos invitado a cantar a más de 20.000 soldados destacados en Kentucky", afirmó el Teniente Coronel Joseph Repya, de las Fuerzas Armadas de los Estados Unidos, y uno de relevantes dignatarios que asistieron al baile inaugural.

La música del primer álbum de Ana Cristina, guitarrista, pianista, cantante y compositora nacida en Miami, el 2 de junio de 1985, se caracteriza por sus letras poéticas, armonías pianísticas y melodías de guitarra. El disco ha alcanzado los primeros lugares en las listas de éxitos en Latinoamérica y en breve tendrá su debut en los Estados Unidos. Ana Cristina, quien firmó un contrato a la edad de 15 años con la disquera Sony Music International, también será la figura central en un nuevo "programa de realidad" de la televisión nacional, que presentará su vida como artista prodigio en transición del mercado musical latinoamericano al estadounidense.

Latin Singer Ana Cristina Captivates Audience at the 55th U.S. Presidential Inauguration

At the 55th Presidential Inauguration, history was made. Latin Recording Artist Ana Cristina became the very first Hispanic to sing The Star Spangled Banner at a Presidential Inauguration. Standing before President George W. Bush and an audience of 5,000 international dignitaries, this 19-year-old Cuban American prodigy represented Hispanics worldwide as she delivered one of the most breathtaking acapella renditions of this country's national anthem. Her crystalline voice received an emotive standing ovation and was immediately followed by a speech delivered by President George W. Bush.

"I have sung at several events the world over, but never have I felt so proud - not only to be able to reach other people through music, but also to represent Hispanics the world over", stated Ana Cristina, soon after she sang the final tune of The Star Spangled Banner and stepped off the President's podium. "It is truly an honor."

Chosen from a pool of thousands of performers across the country, Ana Cristina demonstrated her six-octave vocal range, something almost unheard of in the industry, at the Constitutional Ball at 7:30 pm before President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and other special guests and dignitaries. When Ana Cristina descended into the crowd, she was asked to take hundreds of photos and sign several autographs.

"Ana Cristina's voice is the most impressive and captivating I have ever heard. In the thirty years I have been in the Armed Forces and listened to interpretations of The Star Spangled Banner, I have never heard something so remarkable. I am proud that this voice represents our country and we have already invited her to sing to over 20,000 troops stationed in Kentucky", stated Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Repya, United States Armed Forces, one of the several top dignitaries that attended the ball.

Born June 2nd, 1985 in Miami, Florida, the guitarist, pianist and songwriter's first album 'Ana Cristina', infused by poetic lyrics, piano tunes and guitar melodies has hit the top of the charts in Latin America and will soon debut in the U.S. Signed at the age of 15 by Sony Music International, she will soon be the central figure in a brand new national TV reality show, which features her life as a young prodigy transitioning from the Latin American music market into the U.S. one.
