Classic City Services: Seguros de automóvil y mucho más

En 1999, Ron Hamby tuvo una idea, crear un negocio y atraer a consumidores hispanos. Esa así como creó Classic City Services y contrató a un grupo de empleados de ascendencia hispana.

"La comunidad hispana también necesitaba servicios pero nadie los estaba sirviendo en 1999", explica Hamby, dueño de Classic City Services. CSS ofrece una amplia variedad de servicios como seguros de automóvil, préstamos, envíos de dinero, traducción de documentos y certificados de nacimiento y Medicaid. También prestan servicios de teléfonos celulares e instalación de teléfonos en viviendas.

CSS está siempre buscando nuevos clientes, principalmente hispanos quienes necesitan consejos sobre cómo obtener seguros de automóvil, licencia de conducir y otros servicios y no saban a dónde ir y cómo obtenerlos. "Duarnte la semana recibimos entre 50 y 100 clientes. Estamos aquí para ayudarlos", dice Hamby, quien comenzó a trabajar en el negocio de préstamos para pagar fianzas en 1976. "Comenzé a trabajar con hispanos en los años ochenta".

Sara Madrid es la directora y comenzó a trabajar en CSS en 1999. "Hay negocios que ofrecen ayuda a los hispanos pero en realidad no lo hacen. Nosotros no nos aprovechamos de los clientes hispanos. No cobramos extra y somos honestos", dice Madrid de orien peruano y quien domina el español y el inglés. "Dependemos de nuestros clientes".

José Suarez es el director de Classic City Bonding, el cual trabaja muy de cerca con CSS. Los clientes buscan que Suarez los ayude, principalmente con sus infracciones de tráfico. "Mi meta es ayudar a los hispanos en Athens. Me llaman las 24 horas del día. No importa de qué país sean, los hispanos necesitamos estar unidos", dice Suarez quien vino de Perú en 1975. "Voy y los saco de la cárcel, los ayudo a conseguir un abogado, busco sus automóviles, les consigo un seguro de automóvil bueno y barato y muchas cosas más".

Classic City Services: Car Insurance and Much More

In 1999, Ron Hamby had a vision to create a business and attract Hispanic consumers. That's when he created Classic City Services (CCS) and hired a group of Hispanic staff members.

"The Hispanic community also needed services, but nobody was targeting them in 1999," explains Hamby, owner of CCS. CSS offers a wide variety of services such as auto insurance, loans, money orders, court document and birth certificate translations, and Medicaid. They also provide cell phone service and home phone installation.

CSS is always looking for new clients, mainly Hispanics who need advice on how to get car insurance, a driver's license and other services they don't know where to go for or how to get. "On a given week we get between 50 to 100 Hispanic consumers. We are here to help them," says Hamby, who started working in the bonding business 1976. "I started dealing with Hispanic consumers in the 80s."

Sara Madrid started working for CSS in 1999 and is now the manager. "There are businesses that offer help to Hispanics but they don't really help them. We don't take advantage of Hispanic customers. We don't charge extra, we are honest," says Madrid, who is of Peruvian descent and fluent in both Spanish and English. "We depend on our clients - we are customer based."

José Suarez is the manager of Classic City Bonding, which works closely with CSS. Clients come to him for help, mainly with traffic violations. "My goal is to help Hispanics in Athens. They call me 24 hours a day. It doesn't matter what country they are from. Hispanics need to be united," says Suarez, who left Peru in 1975. "I go and get them out of jail, help them to get a lawyer, go to get their cars back, find good deals on car insurance, and much more."
